Also includes photographs of Kauri gum being weighed, lace being made, a cattle auction, handloom weaving, mussel dredging in the Coromandel, installation of the Lowburn Dredge, a homemade diving suit, a power pole in Russell, rural scenes in Hamilton. Includes the oldest blacksmith in New Zealand, a waterwheel in the Carrick Ranges, lapidiaries, a car with a gasometer, Kauri carvings, a farmer repairing a fence, water bicycles, a tower of matches. Also an unusual carrot, pony traction, a travelling repairman, North Auckland Inlet transport, a postman, a whitewashed mining cottage in Arrowtown, a model railway. Description: Photographs of the staff of the Government Printing Office in Palmerston North at work, taken between circa 1968 and circa 1974 by an unidentified photographer. The collection includes group portraits of staff individual staff members at work, and scenes of staff socialising. The photographs depict a range of machinery and printing equipment used by the staff in their work.
