Description: Gives much political and social gossip of Wellington, describes sheep runs in Hawke's Bay and the Wairarapa, as well as his trips to Christchurch, Auckland, Parewanui and Wanganui Source of title - Transcribed Illingworth came to New Zealand with H J Kennard who was representing Kennard Brothers in negotiations with the Wellington Provincial Council over the patent slip at Evans Bay; he made brief trips to Auckland and Christchurch and in Dec 1866 was present at the Manawatu purchase meeting at Parewanui Pa, after which he visited Wanganui and travelled by canoe on the Wanganui River.
