Description: Racecouse at Island Bay in Wellington, bounded by The Parade, Derwent Street and Clyde Street. Photograph taken by the Burton Brothers circa 1880s. Note on back of file print reads: "Racecourse, bounded by the Parade, Derwent Street on the west and Clyde Street on the left. It extended from Medway Street to Humber Street, and parts of Thames and Mersey Streets were included in the area. c. 1880's" Note in the Museum of New Zealand Burton Brothers register reads `Neg ATL' Other Titles - Island Bay - Wellington Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom left - 3135 Island Bay - Wellington.
