Description: Shows the stamper battery established on the Golden Crown claim in Thames, about 1868. Features a single-storey building with a tall chimney. Other smaller buildings, likely to be miners' dwellings, and roadways are established on the hills behind. A flagpole bearing two flags stands to the right side of the painting. The scene is dotted with figures, all male Gold was first discovered in Thames in 1867.
