Description: Scene in Wanganui showing an overhead conveyor for coal passing over Castlecliff Railway lines and leading to the Wanganui gas works. Photograph taken in 1922 by Frank J Denton. Source of descriptive information - Historical notes provided by Library client Coal was unloaded from lighters moored at a wharf beyond the rail yards. It was then placed into hoppers, hand loaded into the overhead conveyor and carried over the rail yards to the gas works. Quantity: 1 b&w original negative(s).
