Warkworth. 1407 In 1865 Wilson Portland Cement Company started operations. In 1918 the Company amalgamated with the New Zealand Portland Cement Co Ltd at Portland, Whangarei. The new firm was named Wilsons (NZ) Portland Cement Co Ltd. All that remains of the Warkworth plant now are the castle-like ruins of the works by the river. Quantity: 1 b&w original negative(s).
