Description: Manuscript map with cadastral information showing land offered for sale by Aperahawa, Raharuha and party, north of Devon Road between the Waiongana and the Mangaoraka Streams, Waitara, New Plymouth. Shows the boundary continuing along Pakohenui River and Pukeowaka, two areas of land 'left to Whaitere', the Port Nicholson boundary, Ngahuinga settlement, Mahoetahi Pa, Manukau, Morere, Bele Block, Hua Block, te Putaatutonga and the beach. Description: A surveyed, cadastral map of part section number 25, Lower Hutt, bounded by the intersection of Waiwhetu Road and the old Main Road from Wellington to Wairarapa. The highlighted part section is over 15 perches and built on it is a bank and a small dwelling. It is bounded by property owned by R Cleland (including a store) and H Brandt. The Whitewood's Hotel is opposite. An unsigned handwritten note of length on the map states that the intention is to bring the section boundaries under the provision of the Land Transfer Act, 1870. Description: Geological map of the middle and southern part of the South Island, showing Mantell's route from Akaroa to Kaiapoi, south along the coast to Dunedin and return by sea. Names (mostly in Maori) rivers, coastal areas and lakes. Stuarts (Stewart) Island is shown. Shows Maori tracks from interior lakes to the coast, with travel times in days. Marks 'wahi pounamu', route of the author's track, and the boundary of the land block purchased by Commissioner Henry Tacy Kemp, JP. Also marks rock type as per reference key, including slate and quartz conglomerate, limestone, diluvial, tertiary and green gritty marl. Written on back of map: Map for Dr Mantell on New Zealand ...
