Description: A yacht and a jetty in the water at the left, the beach and a road centre, houses to the right and in the distance on the surrounding hills. Two men and a woman in front of the nearer houses, one of the men carrying a yoke with heavy buckets, possibly containing milk or water. Exhibited at 'The world was all before me; journals and watercolours of Edward Ashworth from the collections of Alexander Turnbull Library', Curator was Jill Trevelyan. The exhibition title is taken from Ashworth's journal where he misquotes from John Milton's poem "Paradise Lost": "The world was all before me / where to choose my place of rest".
