Description: Copy of a map with annotations added showing the proposed railway station layout. Station land bounded by Quay Street (harbour side), Breakwater Road and Beach Road (west), The Strand (south), and extends east to beyond Gladstone Road (Westfield line). Includes the proposed new main north line to Whangarei (crosses Beach Road and enters tunnel), and the existing northbound line passing over the Parnell Bridge at the junction of Stanley Street and Alpha Road. Buildings marked include: outward goods shed (near Kings Wharf, Auckland Farmers Freezing Co. and R & W Hellaby), future outward goods shed, inwards goods shed, repair shop, engine shed, car repair shed and machine shop. The Station building and four platforms are also marked, with the Beach Street frontage of the station having a roadway, large ornamental plot and car parking. Description: Photograph of a proposed cadastral town planning map of the suburb of Orakei which is drawn on a base map showing the relief of the Orakei peninsula. The base map includes the route of the railway line and all roads are un-named, except for the Promenade. Carparking areas, the town hall and public buildings, schools, churches, the Oval, children's playgrounds, playing fields, a tea house, baths, shops, the university, flats and private hotels, are marked. Blocks of land between the roads are subdivided into sections and each includes the site of a house. Title supplied by cataloguer. Date of publication estimated from other planning maps of the time. Publisher of base map not known. Stamp on reverse of photograph states the Alexander Turnbull Library photographic collection's statement regarding reproduction. In three cases these are signed E N Webster, who advises that he arrived in Wellington 5 February 1918, and left 15 June 1922. During this period, as well as photographing Wellington and district, he travelled on holiday to New Zealand cities and tourist destinations. The photographs were taken between 1919 and 1921 judging from the prints that have dates. His second name was Norman, and this is the name he used to sign letters on postcards sent from Christchurch in 1919 to his mother, and a friend called May. There is also a note attached to an illustration of Ben Lomond in the collection on which he signs himself Norman Webster. Information on the back of postcards indicate that he came from Australia, and in 1916 lived at Nambour, Queensland. Quantity: 150 b&w original photographic print(s).

Description: Album recording a motoring and camping holiday through the South Island of New Zealand. This took in the New Zealand South Seas Exhibition in Dunedin and included the West Coast, Otago, and Canterbury. The central part of the album has images of Khandallah, Wellington, and the family home in that suburb. Family photographs include Doug on his Norton Motorcycle, and Jack and Neville similarly posed on a Douglas Motorcycle. Rene and Frank stand at the net holding tennis rackets, and mother has several images with young Joyce. The last part of the album recordes something of a holiday to Auckland where the family camped at Brown's Bay and took a trip to Kawau Island. A group shot on Mt Messanger on the way back and some views of Pukekura Park New Plymouth complete the album Quantity: 1 b&w original photographic print(s).
