Description: A poster showing how to locate a fire in Auckland City, based on the number of tolls given by the alarm. At top left is a small map dividing the city into Ponsonby Ward, North Ward, South Ward, East Ward, Karangahape Ward and Grafton Ward, and telling how many tolls indicates each ward. Description: A Gillespie won prizes for begonias, fine foliage plants, primulas, table bouquets, and cut flowers. The 1875 cards are lithographed by W C Wilson, Auckland, and the 1880 card is lithographed by Herald litho. Note from a descendant, Jean Erbacher (28 October 2008), indicates that A Gillespie is likely to have been Mr Alexander Gillespie, the head gardener at Government House in Auckland at that time.
