Rockery on the left of the lawn leading up to a smaller lawn. Farm buildings behind hedges and a drive. Two women standing in a field in the middle distance. Various trees in the picture including cabbage trees and pine trees. Rhododendrons, azaleas and garden around the lawn/court. Car parked up on a rise beside the house on the far left. Wisteria climbing over porch and verandah and around to the left. Conservatory on right corner. Car parked in drive outside the front door. Description: Shows a bearded pipe-smoking man sitting on a wooden case in a house. It has rafters and posts supporting a central ridge pole, and there are baskets hanging off a central beam between two posts. A barrel at the right serves as a surface for bottles and containers. A tin bath(?) hangs on the far wall next to a bunk and wood storage. Printed as an Alexander Turnbull Library print in 1980. Exhibited in 'Wide-Eyed: Early Images of New Zealand' exhibition of works by settler artists, held at the National Library of New Zealand Gallery, 18 July - 9 November 1997.
