Description: Three silver medals welded to form a long brooch, joined to show two reverses on the outside and the obverse in the centre. The reverse shows a sailing ship (the Aurora) in the harbour, with a Maori canoe and a rising sun beyond the hills, with text 'Wellington N. Z. January 22nd 1840'. It is signed "Ro" 1. The obverse shows ships at the wharves and wharf sheds of 1890, with text 'In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the colony, 1890. The clasp of the brooch is broken Quantity: 1 curio(s).
