Description: View of Te Aro, Wellington, looking towards Buckle Street and Mount Cook. The photographer has taken the view from an upper story looking over the houses. In the foreground is a neigbouring roof, and beyond a yard in which is parked a horse and cart. A line of washing is visible in another yard. Beyond the houses are the buildings of Mount Cook School (replaced 1925 by a brick and stucco building). In the left background can be seen the Buckle Street Police Station. The lower slopes of Mount Cook take up the background. Photographed by Ivor Berg in about 1924. According to Ivor Berg's sister, Thelma France, at the time this photograph was taken, Berg was working for a coffin maker.
