Description: Cadastral map depicting properties in the vicinity of the town of Taupo. Shows specific lots bordering the coach road to Taupo: Lot no. 1, J. E Grace freehold, 18.900 acres Tauhara South; Lot no. 2, J E Grace, 1500 acres freehold, Taharua; Lot no. 3, Wharetoto 5,5000 acres Messrs. McDonald and ?Muraro; Lot no. 4, Tauhara South B, Native leasehold, 24,900 acres; Lot no. 5, freehold, 3000 acres; Lot no. 6, leasehold, 14,000 and Lot no. 7, Tapapa leasehold 13.000 acres. Shows Government land and Native land, and Troutbeck's Station on the Dray Road to Whakatane and Galatea. Also shows Runanga Blocks, freehold, 60,000 acres, belonging to Mssrs Grahame & Co. Depicts part of Lake Taupo, the road to Litchfield, the Rangataiki, Ripia, and Mohaka rivers. Written in blue biro on map 'Late 1880's & 1890's'. Surveyor's name not map. Researher, Rawhinia Konui, believes that Cussens is the surveyor. Family ancestors requested the survey to be done. Quantity: 1 map(s). Description: A base cadastral map of thirty-two numbered sections with acreages and some boundary measurements, in part of the Pukawa land block, owned by Kahu Te Kuru, in the Puketi survey district. The annotation to this map shows the numbered sections outlined as far as the lake's edge. One section is marked for community use (parking). Roads included are Motutaiko Street and Pihanga Road which is noted as formed, metalled and being legalised. Includes reserves adjacent to Lake Taupo, and the lines of the current lake edge in 1963 and the lake edge by M.L. 3729. Two areas of 4C3 are marked for development by Trustees. Includes references to D.P. 23996, M.L. 3729, M.L. 4851. Extended Title - Scheme plan of proposed subdivision of part Pukewa 4C3, Block III Puketi survey district.
