Description: Shows a view of tents and a hilltop fort of Rahotu, based on a component of the illustrated page by George Sherriff, in the "Graphic" (London), 8th April 1882, page 340. The rather faded photograph by W A Collis shows a group of eleven uniformed men standing in front of a building. The men appear to be wearing kilts and a wide diagonal shoulder band stretching from left shoulder to right waist. Handwritten text on the back of the photograph says: "The subscriber wishes Henry Hobson God speed on his journey and hopes that in after time this indifferent photograph may bring pleasant recollections of early comradeships in arms.
