Looks over city buildings and streets, and the edge of Waitamata Harbour, from opposite Queens Wharf and Queen Street (running vertically up centre). Quay Street runs along the water's edge. A range of shipping vessels, including a paddle steamer, are berthed at wharves. Signs advertise the following businesses (from left to right): D Goldie, timber merchant; Roller flour mills and stores; John Burns & Co, iron merchants; New Zealand Herald; Wingate & Co; Spargo Gladstone Coffee Palace; and Westfield chemical works.
