Description: The iron barque Ranee awaiting repair, in the Port Chalmers dry dock, at some time between 1890 and 1891, photographed by D A De Maus. The area of damage from a collision is visible, with markings showing areas for repair. There is a group of men wearing bowler hats standing on board, looking down at the camera. Dated between 23 October 1890 and 24 February 1891. The Ranee was built in 1864 by Hart of Liverpool, as the ship Cowasjee Jehangeer. She was renamed Ranee ca 1869, and converted to a barque ca 1881. Dated between 23 October 1890 and 24 February 1891. The Ranee was built in 1864 by Hart of Liverpool, as the ship Cowasjee Jehangeer. She was renamed Ranee ca 1869, and converted to a barque ca 1881.
