Description: Photographs on album pages: photograph of Mount Peel Station, its interior and grounds including Mr Acland in his study, his daughters and their friends identified by inititals, including one of L D Acland and B B Acland, the latter knitting a sock, and the Church of the Holy Innocence viewed across a field of hay stacks with the forest planted by Acland behind it; more of the same women boating and picnicking, including a view of a gorge taken by Harriet Acland, a church interior and Bishop Harper playing cricket with a young boy; Ilam homestead covered in clematis with balconies and verandahs and extensive grounds next to the Avon River, and the Watts Russell family group at Pareora August 1894 with their dog and saddled horses in the background; the West Coast Times printing office with the men outside it, C G Tripp and family and a Centerbury view; and two views of Tripp's homestead at Orari. Description: Two photographs of a Maori picnic at Pigeon Bush on the occasion of the settlement of the ownership of Lake Wairarapa. The first shows a large crowd of men, women and children with Seddon on the right in front of a two-storey wooden house. The second is of the crowd under the trees, one with a concertina, and three men holding up eels they had caught. A photograph of Members of Parliament in the debating chamber. The names given are: Symes, O'Maara, A L D Fraser, J Palmer, Hall, Field, Witheford, Wi Pere, Bennet, Kaihu, Duncan, MIlls, Ward, Cairncross, Stevens, Hogg, F M Smith, Carroll, McGowan and Hall-Jones. A photograph of the opening by Seddon of the Ballance Bridge described as "over Mangahau". It was taken by P De Loree & Son a photographer based in Pahiatua which may indicate the approximate location. The crowd in the foreground is mostly of children and the bridge has been decorated with plants. A photograph of Seddon, Mrs Hogg and Alexander Wilson Hogg opening a bridge. It is captioned at the bottom left "Mangainoka 4.3.1896" but this location has not been identified and the name on the reverse is illegible. Two photographs by Winzenberg of Seddon and others at a Liberal rally near Greytown and at a picnic possibly on the same occasion. Description: Photographs of and relating to the Wilson family ex Eketahuna. William M Wilson was born in Glasgow in 1868, coming to New Zealand when 8 years of age. He was apprenticed to John Fitchett, coach builder in Wellington, then with other firms including Rouse & Hurrell. He was employed by Wilfred Woolf in Eketahuna in 1894, and subsequently bought his business, and entered the firm of Kibblewhite and Wilson. See Cyclopedia of New Zealand, Wellington Provincial District, Eketahuna. Includes dwellings; carriages; group outings and portraits; 1 of the Club Hotel of F D Pelling; 3 of the Ryan family at Tawa Flat; 1 of a house at Island Bay, 1 of a thatched whare at Plimmerton, a Ghuznee St boarding house; 2 relating to the Burnett family; 2 scenes in Manakau; 1 of D A Greenlees store; 2 of Rarotanga; 2 relating to the business of Lyon & Blair, steam printers and lithographers; 1 of a group outside a house in Eastbourne; 3 relating to the Manson family; 1 of a military camp in New Zealand in preparation for the South African War. Edward Morrah (Ned) Halpin (7/2/08 - 8/11/91) married Athena Annie Caran (1900 - 30/11/69) in 1936. He spent his single life in Palmerston North and his married life in Fielding. Early photos of wife taken between 1924 and 1936. Later photos of wife posted to him in middle east. He owned a camera and a car, and the photographs from the 1920s were taken on summer holidays. Description: Photographs taken by Albert Percy Godber between 1905 and 1907, covering a variety of topics. They include family photographs, both individual and group portraits, and Wellington houses (eg `Railway Whare', the house Godber and his family lived in, in Bay Street, Petone). One scene shows Godber's parents, Mary Ann and Charles Godber, with a large group of family members, including Albert Percy Godber, his wife Laura, and two children, Phyllis and William (p.21). On p. 13, Godber's wife Laura and two children are seen with an elderly couple, probably Laura's parents Charles Albert and Magdelina Clara Zinckgraf. Numbers of images show scenes associated with New Zealand Railways, including the Mataroa Railway Tunnel under construction, specific locomotives, signal stations, the railway station at Petone, and scenes at the Petone Railway Workshops. At the beginning of the album, several images show Godber and a team from the Petone Fire Brigade with medals they have won at fire-fighting practice competitions. A pocket at the front of the album holds two photographs, on of a new cutting on the road near Lowry Bay, and one of the `model of `D' class locomotive used in the Petone Peace Demonstration Procession' following the Boer War in 1902, signed `With A.P.
