Description: Copy of an 1870 cadastral map of land blocks within the Manawatū-Wairarapa Block, from the Tararua Ranges eastwards to the Puketoi Range and Castle Point Block. Blocks indicate name, number and acreage, and include Kaihinu, Pahiatua, Te Pukahu, Mongorongo, Eketāhuna, Ngatapu, Ihuraua, Manawatū, Mangahauo, Puketoi, Tautane, Makure. Two blocks include note 'not passed the [Native Land] Court' (Kaihanga, Mangahao no. 3; 7,000 acres and Puketoi no. 6; 3,200 acres). Includes annotations such as the addition of Mangakao no. 2 block in 1881. Includes names of rivers, streams. Note on map reads: 'Produced before the N[ative] L[and] Court at Masterton Wairarapa September 7th 1871'. [Signed] J Rogan'. Note on map reads 'This ? does not conflict with Crown Lands' Judge (signature indeciferable) 'Oct 23 '[18]71' Written on map, bottom left: '897', '2387' Written under map 'This plan is now numbered 88B'. Description: Copy of a hand-drawn map of two adjointing sections of farm land adjacent to the Harataunga Harbour, now known as Kennedy Bay, and bordered by the Whareroa and Ohinau Streams, Puketutu and Kaotara Hills and Rangitahi. One section has the names of Nathan Kennedy & Brothers, while the second has McGregor & Atkinson's names, together with acreages. The McGregor & Atkinson property includes the location of a sawmill and wharf, buildings are indicated and one is named 'Mr. Atkinson's'. A handwritten note on the original, written within this section states 'Grant to J. Cruikshank, Nov. 26th., 1867. 12.15a Sol 155'. Within the section of Nathan Kennedy & brothers, the note states 'Grant to Mr. J. Kennedy, Nov 26th, 1867. 12.15a Sol 155'. Includes references to Native land and Mr. D. Lowe's land. On the opposite side of the harbour, a settlement is marked and the site of a Maori church. A handwritten note on the top left states: 'The copy of a map deposited in this office. ... Description: Survey map of the Umukereru Block in the Wainuioru Survey District, from Te Waiwhakaata southwards to the Wainuioru Stream. Shows boundaries, streams, and shared boundaries with neighbouring Maori land blocks, Tikiwhakairo and Weraawhaitiri (associated with Angapaua). The Umukereru Block has been surveyed into four sections with 500 acres as government land, 100 acres (beside Kahaparera), 632 and 541 acres. Note on map states boundaries were pointed out by Ngāti Pareru hapū and claimed by them. Annotations added to map before copying, now faint include the settler names: James Cooper on the 541 acres and ?Oroui ?Kauo on the government land. Drawn on a Lands and Surveys template map. Inscriptions: Recto - top centre - Boundaries pointed out by Ngati Parera, Claimed by ---d, Wairarapa-Meridional Circuit; Recto - bottom centre - I hereby certify that this survey has been made under my own inspection, that it is correct and that all the rules and regulations with respect to the survey of Native lands have been strictly compiled with. Description: This map covers the area from Maungatautari Mountain and the upper reaches of River Waikato to the mouth of the River Waihou entering the Firth of Thames, and including Tauranga Harbour. Settlements, pa, mountain ranges, rivers, streams and lakes are marked, as are numerous sites of fights accompanied by a record of numbers killed. The Te Aroha block is prominently shaded as are adjacent areas which appear to be jointly claimed by Ngatihaua and Ngaiterangi. Boundaries of other Maori land are marked by dotted lines, some of which are named as follows:- Ngatiraukawa lands, Ngatihaua lands, Ngaiterangi lands, Hauraki lands, Waikato lands. Limits of the scale of this map have been marked with red pencil to allow for changes in size during photocopying. The orientation of this map faces south. A similar copy of this map is located at the same classification and a cataloguing record can be found under the same title. Inscriptions: Recto - Produced before the Court, Auckland 21 January 1871. Description: Survey map with cadastral information of elongated subdivisions of section 42, Block ten, Belmont Survey District, off Naenae Road and totalling over 45 acres. Land owners are named as His Majesty the King (for housing purposes), and four Native land subdivisions are owned by 'Native owners'. Adjacent sections are owned by the Crown, G Hall, E Anderson, GE Chapman, AM Lewis and CS Brandon, HB Robb, JJ & LE Toomer, JM Reid, J Reilly, EE Jones, FJ Hickman, W Russell, A Lerwill, R Munger, G Purvis. Description: This map covers the area from the un-named Maungatautari Mountain and the upper reaches of the River Waikato to the River Waiho [sic] entering the Firth of Thames. Some English names of areas included for example 'One Tree Hill' and 'M[t] Albert, Owhairaka'. Several of the Maori pa sites include names associated with the pa, for example, Moeatoa pa of N. Titiata; Karaka te Aua and N. Tipare; Onehunga pa, Karangahape pa, Te Whau pa, Puketapapa pa and Onewa pa all of Uringutu and Ngaoho; Awhitu, pa of N. Titiata, N. Tamaoho and N. Timahuta; N.
