Left: Stone memorial to commemorate officers and men who were killed in the district during the New Zealand Wars, 1863-1864. Those named on the memorial are: Richard Horton, Loader, William Smith, Liam Murphy, John Scott, Felix McGarth, James Merick [?], James Cassidy, Alexander Jamieson. Name at top is indecipherable. There is a man standing beside the memorial.
