Description: Includes material from the New Zealand Spartacist League, the Pacific Institute of Resource Management, Citizens for the Demilitarisation of Harewood, the World Peace Council, the Wellington Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, the Wellington Peace Forum, the New Zealand Foundation for Peace Studies, Peace Movement Aotearoa, NZ Council for World Peace (Wellington Committee), Beyond ANZUS Conference, Peaceful Play Campaign, Campaign Against Landmines (CALM), the First Earth Run. Includes a promotional booklet about a performance of "Night on Bald Mountain", by Liong Xi and Faye Tohbyn (2 copies) Also includes a flyer protesting against the export from New Zealand of the MERE (Mortar Elevation and Ranging Equipment) mortar calculator, which could be used overseas for counter-insurgency, particularly against "Philippine peasants". MERE (Mortar Elevation and Ranging Equipment) was developed by the New Zealand Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in conjunction with the New Zealand Army and was intended for use with the L16A1/A2 81 mm mortar, to control its firing.
