Description: Survey map with topographical features, in the vicinity of the lower half of the Orongorongo River, from Windy Point, southwards to Turakirae Head, northwestwards to Fitzroy Bay and eastwards to the Mukamukaiti Stream. Identifies Crown land and Native (Maori) land. The Orongorongo River, Daniel Riddiford's land (Orongorongo Station), the east coast, and the site of the old pa (kainga) at the rivermouth are surveyed in detail. Shows an old fortified pa between the Orongorongo and the Wainuiomata rivers. Map (before copying) signed by several officials as certified, including Deputy Inspector of Surveys, the Chief Surveyor, and ER Foster. Signed as correct by surveyor George and Swanson. Description: Cadastral map of Manukau harbour Auckland, depicting Native Land blocks, named settler sections (with acreage between 74 and 303 acres), a reserve (over 74 acres), swamp lots, a native village, a spring reserve, and identifying Nixon's 'hut'. Settler names include Grahame, six separate blocks totalling over 833 acres, Greenwood, four blocks totally over 468 acres, Nixon, four blocks of over 420 acres, Gitti's, 1000 acres, Fairburn, Bagston, and 184 acres bought 'for some person in England'. A vast area is titled 'unsettled claims'. A pencilled note reads 'Those lots not coloured are state unsold'. Quantity: 1 manuscript map(s). Description: Cadastral map of a Maori township called Takapuahia (Takapuwahia), Porirua, showing mostly unnumbered sections, numbered rather than named streets, the water's edge. Named sections include the Wesleyan Church, a reserve for the Church of England and Te Hiko's house. Names added to the sections at a later date include Tanihana Te Rauparaha, Hoani Okoro, and some have crosses or prices on them. Swamp and bush are indicated.
