Description: 4 views of businesses in the Wellington region: the Hotel Waterloo on the corner of Bunny Street and Waterloo Quay; Levin & Co, who had premises on Featherston Street and Customhouse Quay; Royal Tiger Hotel, on the corner of Abel Smith Street and Taranaki Street; and the Provincial Hotel in Upper Hutt. At the time the photographs were taken Thomas Fisher was the proprietor of the Provincial Hotel and E Dunn was the proprietor of the Royal Tiger. Photographer unidentified but it may be Hall Raine. Description: Album of photographs taken by Albert Lyndsay McKenzie, showing Haywards substation, Centennial Exhibition, Union Airways aircraft at Rongotai airport, and views of war memorials, other monuments, some buildings and parks and gardens in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. There are also some scenic views of rivers and landscape, and one photograph of bee keepers at work on hives. Albert Lyndsay McKenzie, the father of the donor, was born in Christchurch. He started an apprenticeship as a process art engraver, which was interrupted by World War 2, and never completed. He returned to Christchurch after the war. Quantity: 1 album(s) Album(s).

Description: Album of publicity photographs produced for New Zealand Railways by unidentified photographers. Many of the images are related to a series of articles produced in the new Zealand Railways Magazine between January 1939 and June 1940, written by O N Gillespie, with the overall title "Buy New Zealand goods and build new Zealand. New Zealand Industries series". In this album topics covered are glass manufacture and toys, novelties and woodworking. Many photographs show the beginning of work related to World War II, with a large number of views of New Zealand military parades in Wellington; views at Wellington wharves of the troopship the Empress of Canada; and scenes at the Wellington Railway station. Other views show various training activities of the Home Guard, including fire-fighting and medical training. Two pages of nine images show different views of the Oerlikon automatic gun (p 46-47), and there is one of a range finder (p 51). On Page 5, there is a three-part panorama of the Hutt Valley from Wainuiomata Road. Quantity: 1 album(s) Album(s). Description: Shows part of the entrances to Port Nicholson and Evans Bay, Te Aro, Thorndon, and in the centre foreground, Kaiwharawhara with hotels and the Maori pa. The ship Oliver Laing is the larger vessel in harbour in the distance to the right. The houses on land protruding into the harbour in the near right are in Thorndon; the line of houses at the foot of a cliff by the sea beyond that is Lambton Quay, with 'Plimmer's ark' (the barque Inconstant) moored in the water at the end. The buildings beyond are on Te Aro Flat An ink inscription on the verso reads: A sketch of part of Wellington, N. Z. from the old track across Kai-warra-warra Hill. The straits {Cooks} are visible over the distant hills. Evans Bay is partially visible on the left, the entrance to the bay {Port Nicholson} is again to the left of the hills visible on the extreme left. The ship visible is the "Oliver Laing" from Liverpool. She is about 1299 tons register & thus will give some idea of the distance. The Kai-warra hotels are visible in the immediate foreground on the Hutt road.
