Description: Birds eye view of central Auckland - "This view is compiled and drawn as from a point one thousand feet above and one hundred feet to the rear of the Hospital during the year 1885 and part of 1886 by George Treacy Stevens, Auckland, N. Z.". All the streets are named and every building is shown, as well as the wharves and part of the harbour. Grafton Road, the hospital and part of Auckland Domain dominate the foreground, and the view extends beyond St Mary's Bay (West Haven boat harbour) in the north-west, a block beyond Union Street in the west, to the beginning of Karangahape Road in the south-west and to Judges Bay and part of Hobson Bay in the east. Description: A list of the nine races to take place at the regatta for children, including pair-oared skiffs for various age groups of children. The prize for each event is shown; most are medals, but the prize for the Greasy Boom was a pig. The finale was tea and muffins. The committee included: Mrs T Morrin, Mrs Mitchelson, Mrs Tilly, Mrs J L Wilson and Mrs Carr. Starter was J Bennett, umpire was E Mitchelson and the judge was T E Tilly. Quantity: 1 b&w art print(s). Description: Photograph album of views of New Zealand and Australia, taken by various photographers. Three photographs taken by the Burton Brothers show the sunken pa at Ohinemutu (Burton Bros. 3880); two Maori rangatira, image entitled `Were Were & Kiriwere, Waipahihi, Lake Taupo' (Burton Bros. 3747); and Maori meeting at Whare-Komiti-Haerehuka, King Country (Burton Bros. 3624). Other - Photograph `Maori meeting at Whare-Komiti-Haerehuka, King Country' (Burton Bros. 3624) appears to have been taken at the same time as image at PA7-36-30 `Great chiefs at Whare-Komiti-Haerehuka, King Country (Burton Bros. 3622). Several of the chiefs who were named in the Great Chiefs image can be identified in the view in this album. Other - Photograph `Were Were & Kiriwere, Waipahihi, Lake Taupo' (Burton Bros. 3747) appears to have been taken at the same time as the image at PA1-o-088-13.
