Description: Four photograph albums compiled by Robert Henry (Harry) Fulton relating to his World War I service between 1916-1919 with New Zealand 12th Reinforcements, and with the New Zealand Army Service Corps (NZASC) based at New Zealand Base Kit Stores unit at Sling Camp, Bulford, England. Many photographs taken by Fulton. Some prints are taken by other unknown photographers as indicated by caption 'loaned negatives', and as they show campaigns, such as Gallipoli, in which Fulton did not serve. Images show his time with the 12th Reinforcements; from the journey from New Zealand on HMNZT 'Ulimaroa' and 'Ivernia' troop ships to Egypt in 1916, camp life in England as part of the NZASC, and activities whilst on leave during wartime and post war. Particularly shows family and home in Ireland and sight-seeing photographs from around Egypt and Great Britian, including New Zealand soldiers at Stonehenge. Prints have captions on the album pages; some images are inscribed on the print. Fulton has often arranged images of unrelated locations and activities on individual album pages. Description: The autobiography, in two books, finishes in 1938, although an outline for a proposed third book to 1951 is included. Source of title - Transcribed title Cunningham gained extensive practical experience in sheep farming, fruit growing and forestry in New Zealand and Australia before serving with NZEF at Gallipoli in World War I. He joined the Department of Agriculture as an orchard instructor in 1917 and studied at Victoria University College in the 1920s. He represented New Zealand at the First Imperial Mycological Conference in London in 1924 and in 1928 was put in charge of the Mycological Laboratory, Plant Research Station, Palmerston North. He visited North American and British institutions in 1929 and was instrumental in the reorganization of agricultural research when, in 1936, plant research was transferred to the DSIR. Description: -Photograph album compiled by an unidentified person. Thirty-five photographs taken during World War One, with captions and dates, possibly written by Thomas Rees England (1886?-1948). Contains images of troopships and naval escorts enroute from New Zealand to Egypt including troopship "Ruapehu" and escort HMS Minotaur, Oct-Nov 1914. Also photographs of the pyramids and surrounding landscape in Egypt, Jan 1915. Seventy family photographs, undated and with no identification, taken circa 1910s. Two loose photographs: a family portrait of a child called 'Pat' and a photographs of troops landing at Gallipoli 25/4/1915. Five photographs taken by Arthur Ninnis Breckon relating to the capture and arrest of Tuhoe prophet Rua Kenana Hepetipa at Maungapohatu in April 1916. Archivists note: It is not immediately apparent what the relationship is between the England family and the Breckon photographs. Breckon photographs of this subject were published in the Auckland Weekly News of 13 April 1916 and it is possible that the images were widely available to the general public.
