Description: Temporary office and bar of the Glacier Hotel, Franz Josef, West Coast, with an unidentified group outside. Photograph taken in January 1961 by an unidentified photographer. This establishment, run by mountain guides Gar Graham and Peter McCormack, was opened in 1954, after a fire destroyed the previous hotel, and operated for 11 years until the new Franz Josef Glacier Hotel opened in 1965.
