Description: Official opening of the new assembly hall at the Feilding Agricultural College on the 28th of March 1934. Left to right on the front of the stage are: Mr Hector Booth (founder of college), Hon Masters, Hon John Cobbe, Mr L J Wilde (principal), Mr James Knight (donor of hall), Mr D Kilgour (president of O.P.A) and Mr C E Taylor (Mayor of Feilding). Taken by an unidentified photographer. Notes on the back of the photograph may identify the photographer - the words have been cut off the edge of the image and are difficult to read - possibly W T Bray? The hall was funded by Mr James Knight in memory of his late son. The ceremony was held inside on account of wet weather and muddy ground.
