The four men are members of the E.E.C (European Economic Community) one of them representing 'France'. Refers to New Zealand's difficulties when Britain joined the EEC. New Zealand negotiated concessions (in the form of access quota rights to the British and European markets). The percentage of sheep meat sold to the United Kingdom dropped dramatically.
