A few houses strung along shore with sections laid out in the foreground and a small church to the left. Mangere mountain is in the middle distance with Puketutu Island to the right. The background volcanoes are Ihumatao, near the modern airport. Two women, one with a parasol, and a man are gazing at the view from a low hill in the foreground Exhibited in 'Picturing Paradise; the colonial watercolours of William Fox', Exhibition at National Library Gallery 25 February - 18 June 2000; Hocken Library, Dunedin, 11 September - 15 October 2000.
