Description: Photographs of Graham and Elsie Massingham at various localities in New Zealand. Graham Massingham and his wife came out from England in the late 1920s. The 1928 Wises Post Office Directory describes Massingham as a company manager and lists him as living in Dunedin at 34 Dundonald street, Andersons Bay. Later in the 1930s he lived at 75a Grant Road, Wellington. He died on 20 November 1947. Quantity: 33 b&w original photographic print(s).

Description: Views of New Zealand, chiefly of Nelson, including the Maitai River, Nelson Reservoir, Nelson Harbour and Port, Nelson Christ Church Cathedral, and Waimea Road (showing Nelson College at the head of the valley). Other images of New Zealand include the Moeraki Boulders, Mitre Peak, the Criterion Hotel in Wellington, and a view of Gisborne. Images of Australia include views of Black Hill and Mount Gambier (South Australia), and Ballarat and Stawell in Victoria. A series of views of the Copenhagen area in Denmark include castles and palaces, the Kongelige Theatre, Fredensborg slot (Frederiksborg, Denmark), and a museum in Copenhagen. Photographs taken by Theodor Bloch who was a professional photographer in Nelson circa 1863-1888, and then in Victoria, Australia until circa 1891. Description: Photographs taken by Henry Wright in the Wellington Region between about 1879 and 1899. In the album there is one photograph (p 33), of the Pink Terraces which was possibly taken by the Burton brothers. They include two photographs (on p 1, 36) of his wife (probably his second wife Mary Jane (nee Woolman), as it is likely they were taken between 1886 and 1890, dated from the style of her dress, and he didn't marry his third wife, Elizabeth Hughes Hallett, until 1907) Many were taken around the Wellington coast, including views of the Wellington Heads; two views of Maori whare at Karaka Bay (circa 1879)(p 13) and one with a Maori chief in front of a whare (p 15); and three photographs of a bay near Karaka Bay showing torpedo sheds (p 20), a naval camp (p 30), and the explosion of a torpedo in the sea (p 31). Description: Views of New Zealand, interspersed with views of Australia and Denmark. The New Zealand images are chiefly of the Nelson and Tasman regions, including the Maitai River, central Nelson, and a military camp at Richmond in 1877. There are a large number of views of various parts of Victoria, Australia, and several of dwellings and churches in Denmark. In a pocket at the front of the album are three images, one of St Martin's Church (Canterbury, England), and two of Winchester Cathedral. There are several images of Claverley House, with no indication as to its whereabouts. Photographs taken by professional photographer Theodor Bloch, who worked in Nelson circa 1863 to 1888, before working in various parts of Australia. Quantity: 1 album(s) Album(s).
