Description: Photographs taken by Albert Percy Godber between 1915 and 1916. Many of the images show various aspects of logging in Piha and Karekare. Views include the Piha Tramway, bush railway inclines, scenes of lumbermen cutting down kauri trees and cross-cutting felled trees, transportation of logs by bullock teams and horse-drawn rail wagons, the Piha timber camp and mill and men at everyday activities in camp buildings and in their workmen's huts. Other sections of the album show views of Petone, and Godber's family (his wife, Laura Godber, and two children, Phyllis and William (Bill)); views of the central North Island; farming in the Mendip Hills (Canterbury); and views of Trentham. These cartoons mainly address Holland's link to the British conservatives (which McNamara had a very negative view of), and general electioneering. Other cartoons relate to the "baby boom" that occurred after the war, the political situation in Britain, and an electricity crisis. Some illustrations of animals are also included. Description: Album belonging to T W (Thomas Watson) Brown. Scenes around New Zealand, many probably taken by Brown, some taken by the New Zealand Government Tourist Department, and some of Lake Te Anau, Lake Wakatipu, and Milford Sound taken by FGR (Frederick George Radcliffe). The first part of the album is mainly images of tramping, camping and hunting in the Orongorongo Range and the Rimutakas, with some of the people identified, including Roley Neale and W A Neale (William Augustus Neale). Other sequences of images are a number in and around Lake Waikaremoana, including several of men fishing showing their catches; climbing in the Tongariro National Park area; views of the small towns Mohaka, Mataatua; areas around Titirangi, Kawau, Hamilton and Tauranga. The one of the dove is captioned "examples of my father's natural history photography which he greatly favoured". Complete total of photographs unknown Pat Lawlor and Keast Burke corresponded on the subject of Australian photographers and writers (see MS-Papers-1280 etc) which is possibly how Lawlor came by these photographs.
