Description: Panoramic view looking down over Days Bay with Wellington Harbour, the Days Bay Wharf and the Wellington Heads on the right. Houses on the slopes and up amongst trees at the foot of bush-clad hills. The Days Bay ferry is moored on the far side of the pier, the Days Bay Pavilion is in the centre of the image with lawns by the road. People playing tennis on courts to the left of the pavilion and behind a large two-storeyed building (side view, then Croydon School, later Wellesley College). This image is part of a panorama, with APG-0450-1/2, which shows the area of Days Bay from the road, with two boats at the wharf, the Bay, and hills towards the south of Wellington. Day's Bay House was built as a hotel guesthouse in 1903, and was sold in 1913 to Miss Gladys Somerville who transformed it into the Croydon Preparatory School for Boys, in 1914.
