Description: Copy photograph taken circa 1876 by an unidentified photographer. A Wellington Rowing Club crew rowing the "Dolly Varden" boat. People identified as: W Moore (bow), W Hearn (no 2), W Walker (no 3), H Woods (stroke). Location recorded as opposite Clyde Quay Hotel, Wellington, however may be near Paremata, Porirua. Text from back of the print reads: "This crew won the inter-provincial championship in 1876. Built in London, the 'Dolly Varden' was the first outrigger in New Zealand to have sliding seats".
