Description: An extensive view at Waimate North, with a windmill, the mission station and the church on the horizon. Bracken in the foreground and a rutted dirt road running away into the distance. Fenced paddocks to the right and three small people walking away on the road to the left. Several dead trees in the foreground. Compare a very similar work by Cyprian Bridge at A-079-035 The work appears to have been part of a sketchbook at an earlier stage, with signs of having been bound on its left side. Probably removed by the Library from album E-320-f, which contained 16 sketches on acquisition by Alexander Turnbull in 1893.
