Description: Photographs taken by Maurice Henry Hayward while on a work relief scheme on the Chatham Islands building a new wharf at Waitangi. Included are views of Waitangi and its principle buildings, the Post Office, the hotels and the radio station. Also depicted is race day, bullock teams, horses hauling wool bales on sledges, sheep waiting at Waitangi Wharf, human bones, Tommy Solomon's funeral, a shipwreck, the countryside, and coastal views. Throughout the album are images of the old wharf at Waitangi, and the new one under construction and finally completed. There is a record of a tramping and hunting trip made by three or four men, one of whom was Hayward, and two interior views of the living quarters for the relief workers. Description: Cadastral map of the Parnell Borough of Auckland, from Mechanics Bay, St. Georges and Judges Bay down to Hobson's Bay, including the Waikato and Kaipara railway routes. Shows the Parnell rise and the road to Manukau and Epsom, Gladstone and Avenue Rd, St. Stephens, Ayr and Brighton, as well as the Domain. Sections 1-4 and 95 are shown, and numbered blocks and lots within each section. Grammar School, St Stephen's School, an orphan home, a cemetry, a sawmill the Alexandra Hotel, Windsor Castle. a cattle market and reclaimed land are also shown. A private road is shown off St. Georges Bay Road leading to the only named property, that of Mr Aitken, Section One, (84) - 538. Description: Panoramic view looking across and down Furlong Street in the foreground. From the lfar left of the image to the centre are seen shops in the distance, a cart laden with sacks, and a car and a bicycle parked in the street. Next is the two-storeyed wooden 'Dominion Hotel'. To the right of the hotel is a row of concrete buildings associated with the South Taranaki Winter Show. They include, from left, Farmers' Co-op and the Defence Office, then the kitchener Hall (containing the registered office of Ararata Melrose normanby & Mells Co-op Dairy Co. (A W Page, secr.)). Next on the right is the Lloyd-George Hall containing the offices of the South Taranaki Winter Show Co. Ltd (L.O. Hooker, secr)). There are three men and a dog standing outside.
