Description: Three group portraits of World War II RNZAF (Royal New Zealand Airforce) personnel (some persons identified) taken circa 1939-1945 and one group portrait of women during of WWI 'for the Soldiers' Queen' Comprises: -Unidentified members of RNZAF seated at long tables during a Christmas party at the Savoy Hotel, Christchurch, Dec 1943. Note on back of print reads 'LAC Eddie Edgar Broad' -Unidentified members of RNZAF at Harewood, Christchurch, circa 1939-1945. Group portrait of approx 100 men. Note on back of print reads 'LAC Edgar Eddie Broad'. Photographer unidentified. -Identified 12 members of RNZAF taken by Moore & Thompson of Rotorua. Names are written in pencil on the back of the mount, under the title 'The Forgotten Flight'. Description: Postcard shows a central image of the hands of a man and woman clasped in a handshake; this circular image is ringed with a decorative Maori motif. At the left is a map of "somewhere in France", and at the right is a map of New Zealand, a cabbage tree and a farmhouse. There is a verse which reads: "For England, home and beauty / For Christmas and for you, / With heart and hands across the sea / Here comes my greeting true. The verso has a handwritten message to Harry, from Tom in Foxton, 24 September 1917; he hopes Harry will be home to look after the farm soon. Quantity: 1 colour art print(s).
