Description: One group of prints show Lower Hutt and parts of Wellington from the air. These include Rongotai and the Centennial Exhibition under construction, and Newtown showing the hospital and Government House. Other views of Wellington are of Oriental Bay, Wellington East Girl's college, Wellington College and the city beyond including the Winter Show Buildings. There is also a general view of Eastbourne from the south, and the state funeral of M J Savage entering Lambton Quay from Molesworth Street. The rest of the prints all relate to horse racing events. Quantity: 12 b&w original photographic print(s). Processing information: All of these prints are part of the Evening Post Collection. For many years they were rolled. In 1998 they were sent to Conservation for flattening and then organised as a discreet collection group.

Description: Ethel Curtis (left), and Margaret Battersby with Nathan Wise and Fiona Leggat, at Wadestown School, Wellington, New Zealand. Photographed by an Evening Post staff photographer on the 18th of August 1981. Ethel Curtis and Margaret Battersby were former senior teachers of junior classes at Wadestown School. They were visiting the school in relation to its' centenary in October 1981. Miss Battersby, 94, was Miss Curtis' teacher for her first few years as a Wadestown School pupil, and taught there from 1909 until her retirement in 1933. Miss Curtis returned several times to teach, the last of them for 10 years before her retirement in 1969. Quantity: 1 b&w original negative(s).
