Description: View of Waitangi, Chatham Island, looking across the Nairn River. In the foreground is the Ngati Mutunga urupa (cemetery) enclosed by wakawaka fence. Behind this is the pa wool shed, and at left, the long sleeping houses. (Information from George Hough and Bill Carter). The urupa was destroyed by a tidal wave, and the reamins of the interred were moved to the urupa on the hill above Waitangi Hospital. (Information from George Hough and Bill Carter).
