Description: Album of snapshots, chiefly family groups. None are labelled, but it appears the album is of Arthur James Luke and his wider family; two dogs, a spaniel and a small terrier; his home at 84 Bolton Street, Wellington; family holidays at Napier; views of Lowry Bay; and views of unidentified people linked with tennis. Views in Napier include the Napier Botanical Gardens, various monuments including the monument to the South African War, and buildings damaged by the napier earthquake in 1931. Description: Sketchbook contains 152 watercolours, including views of churches and hotels in Norsewood, Botanical Gardens in Wellington, Old Chapel Bolton St Cemetery Wellington, views near Wairoa, and studies of New Zealand birds. Inside front cover are 2 loose greeting cards and 1 postcard, by Jane Brenkley, together with a separate sheet showing a comic sketch of a runaway draughthorse and an old woman's reaction to it. These are of later date than most of the album and appear to have come to the Library separately from the album Inscriptions: Recto - beneath image - Almost all works entitled and some dated.
