Description: Photographs of Christchurch City showing the effects of the 2010 and 2011 Canterbury earthquakes and the recovery effort, taken 6 March 2012. Shows images of demolition crews, inspectors, sewerage tankers, trucks (one fittingly called 'Red Zone'), cranes, aftershock damage, remedial work (bracings) on buildings, construction workers, mannequins (running joke after earthquake), protection of historic trees, scaffolding, old truck tyres made into impact barriers, and intersection views. Also shows detailed damage to the Christchurch Cathedral (particularly the rose window and bell tower) and the demolition of the Grand Chancellor Hotel. Arrangement: Files were originally delivered to the Library within a folder called "Mar 06 - CBD Red Zone" Quantity: 135 digital photograph(s).
