Description: The barque Pamir in Wellington Harbour. Taken by an unidentified photographer during the 1940s. The Pamir first arrived in Wellington in July 1941, and made many voyages under the New Zealand flag in the 1940s. She was lost in the mid-Atlatic with all of her crews in 1957. Description: The sailing ship Victoria in Port Chalmers graving dock. Photograph taken by David Alexander De Maus probably in 1887 when she visited Port Chalmers from Germany. According to the Comber Index she left Hamburg on 30 March 1887, arriving at Port Chalmers on 15 July 1887. The name of the ship and port of ownership are visible on the stern. Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom left - "Victoria". In Port Chalmers graving dock.; Photographer's title on negative - bottom left - 547 The 'Victoria' was a barque pf 743 tons, built at Himmelwarden in 1884, and owned by G Eilers of Brake, Germany.
