Description: Comprises letter to Helen Beaglehole from Neil Hudson relating to harbour navigational aids, particularly with regard to Bean Rocks Lighthouse and other beacons in Waitemata Harbour. Mr Hudson describes the maintenance work done while he was master of the floating crane `Hikinui' in the 1980s. Also relates earlier events (ca 1950s) when he was working on the government steamer `Maitai' and the Union Company's vessel `Kawaroa', both of which serviced lighthouses, at Cuvier Island and Taranga Island Includes covering letter from Helen Beaglehole..
