Description: Photographs relating to the 2010 and 2011 Canterbury earthquakes taken by Ross Becker on 15 June 2011. These were taken in the CBD (central business district) within the red zone area which was cordoned off after 22 February 2011 earthquake. Majority of images are long shots and closer details of damage to buildings and streets, some of which occurred after the 13 June 2011 aftershock 6.3 earthquake. Details show cracks in facades and pavements, rubble, partially demolished buildings, broken windows. A smaller number of images show people at work in the red zone, including photographer Ross Becker posing with his camera and tripod. Includes scenes of Civil Defence headquarters in the foyer of Christchurch Art Gallery, and an exterior shot of Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker talking to two men outside the gallery. Also scenes of City Council and DOC (Department of Conservation) command unit trailers in park.
