Description: Photographs showing the effects of the Canterbury earthquakes of 2010 and 2011, taken 6 May 2012, particularly of Christchurch, CBD, and Waygreen Avenue. Shows plans for new buildings, Dance-O-Mat (Gap Filler project) on the corner of Manchester and St Asaph Streets, remains of the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Novotel Hotel, Rydges Hotel, plaque set into the pavement in High Street (Laid by the Canterbury Pilgrims & Early Settlers Association in celebration of Canterbury's centenary in 1950), remains of the DIA building, damage to Our City O-Tautahi building, Isaac Royal Theatre, views along streets cleared of rubble, Ironside House being repiled, demolition of St Stephen's Anglican Church (Shirley), damage to houses in Waygreen Avenue (shows houses abandoned and demolition sites, next to occupied homes). Arrangement: Files were originally delivered to the Library within a folder called "May 06 - City, CBD, Waygreen" Quantity: 83 digital photograph(s).
