Description: Set of eight postcards from the Daily Mail series on the ANZACS in France, including ones of troops cheering the king, the arrival of the New Zealand Prime Minister by air, and a Maori butcher chopping up meat; other postcards of the Tauranga area particularly of houses damaged on the beach; and three prints of shipping on the Suez Canal including one of a dredge (photographer possibly named Langahi). Description: This album is a compilation recording a trip to Britain and Canada made by James Wilson Wallace and his wife prior to the First World War. James Wallace adopted his brother's son Gavin who by this time was living with him and his wife in Wellington. Gavin does not feature in this album, but it is highly likley that members of his Yorkshire family do. There is a record of a visit to Fountains Abbey, the seaside and unidentified towns. Military manoeuvers involving soldiers on horseback were observed, and there are two photographs of the experimental military aircraft, the B.E.2a, designed by De Haviland for the British Government in late 1912. There are photographs of Malta and (presumably) British battleships in the harbour. As well as Canada the Wallaces also seem to have visited Japan It is likely that the photographs in the album do not strictly follow the sequence of their trip Quantity: 1 album(s) Album(s).

Description: Photographs of trips taken in the countryside, of bridges, rivers, streams, waterfalls, native forest, mountains, coastal scenery and other scenic views. There are pictures of cars and one of a motorcycle with side car. There are prints of two fly fishermen displaying their catch in a net and of a man holding up a large eel. Others show yachts in sail, and men and boys in yachts; adult fun sports at a group outing identified in PAColl-6712-2 as being the "optic championships". Another group are shown playing cricket in the grounds of Days Bay House. There is also a single print of a hunter showing his bag of wild game birds. Animals are represented by cattle and horses, one of the latter associated with two men and a wagon-full of freshly harvested hay, another is harnessed to a coach parked beside a stationary train. A sequence of prints records the dams and lakes of the newly completed Mangahao Hydro in the hills inland from Shannon. Three prints show a ship grounded in coastal shallows. There are portrait and group photographs of people, including children, and one print of a children's party. Several show picnic groups.

Description: Transparency slides of Mr E G Williams' (Edmund Gardner Williams') travel in New Zealand in 1959. This sheet of slides was probably taken earlier than those on some of the preceding sheets (information from his diary). This sheet contains images of Wellington, including Wellington Airport; views from Mount Victoria; around the Wellington coast including shore with marram grass and black-backed gulls; the Petone Settlers' Memorial; Marine Parade around Miramar, with the Monowai sailing through Wellington Heads; buildings in the city including Parliament Buildings, Government Buildings, Wakefield House at 90 The Terrace, used by the Founders Club; and an old two-storeyed wooden house on the Terrace; the Corinthic loading various goods at Wellington Wharves; Lambton Quay; Cable Car terminal and views of Wellington; and the Carter Observatory. Slides on this sheet are numbered 505-528, with a gap for no. 506. Arrangement: Image no. 506 (showing the view from Mount Victoria in Wellington) was taken as part of Williams' representative collection on New Zealand for various lectures which he gave when he returned to England. Description: A set of photographs relating chiefly to Royal New Zealand Air Force personnel during World War II, collected by Brent Mackrell from a range of sources. Comprises group and individual portraits taken in unidentified locations, probably out of New Zealand. The subjects are all unidentified, except for a portrait of Reginald 'Reg' William Barker, a pilot for the RNZAF, who is photographed sitting in the cockpit of a fighter airplane. Description: Colour transparency slides of Auckland scenes, taken ca mid to late 1950s and 1960s by Peter Vaizey Conley. This set is chiefly of Waitemata Harbour, Auckland waterfront between Westhaven Marina and Mechanics Bay, and a few views of the city. Waterfront and harbour views include two images of Auckland Harbour Bridge and views of ships include the Mariposa and the Oriana, and [Devonport?] ferry. Views of city buildings include Auckland Railway Station and Ferry Terminal Building. Landscape views show beaches, including Long Bay, one view of a waterfall near Papakura, and a landscaped [public?] garden, probably Point Erin Park. Miscellaneous images include a Volkswagen car parked at Point Erin Park, Westhaven, and a National Airways Corporation airplane on the tarmac at an unidentified airport.
