Description: A base map of Block V, Westmere S.D. has been used to detail the town section 103 to be developed by John T. Williams. The plan for the section includes a cottage, stable and two sheds. The orchard, garden, passage and yard are named, include measurements in feet and inches, and notes about a 'crooked delanidated picket fence' and 'buried in dense growth of trees and shrubs'. The adjacent section No. 102, includes the names W.J. Vowles and J.A.S. McDonald, owner and occupier, while section No. 104 has the names Mrs. M.V. Soulby, owner, and Williams, occupier. The section to the rear has the name Mrs. Ellen Cullinane, owner and occupier. A note written on bottom right of map gives information about survey posts, pegs and no excess claimed for this section. As President George W Bush calls for Israel to withdraw from Palestine, a dog (Ariel Sharon) urinates on his leg. President Bush tries to mediate peace negotiations betweem Arafat and Sharon. A septic tank is on daily call to clean up the mess in the Alliance Party caucus. Two coffins are carried by pallbearers. The first contains the body of the Queen Mother, the second, the remains of Helen Clark's plans for a Republic. Bill English hears the news that Helen Clark has enough support to rule for life. Comment on Helen Clark's involement in signing art works that she didn't paint. Graham Murries coaching career is resurected following the Hurricanes win over the Brumbies. Lawyers discuss the reasons not to sever links with the Privy Council; many of the reasons are led by self interest. The United States congratulates itself while Israel and Palestine come closer and closer to annihilation. New Zealand's arm is severed by an axe as they reach out to hold the Rugby World Cup host status. The axeman is Australian. Description: Tylden began writing his reminiscences in 1907 and continued till 1913; he writes of his childhood, education, military training in England and coming to New Zealand in 1862 with the 70th Regiment. He gives full accounts of skirmishes in the Waikato, Wanganui and New Plymouth areas from 1863 to 1866. Following his discharge in 1868 he returned to farm in the Pukekohe area until 1881 and practised law in Auckland from 1882 to 1912. Description: Sketches show: James Gordon Stuart Grant (a politician), Bandy Harry (shoe-shine), Solly Solomon (probable the lawyer Saul Solomon), Sir --- Chapman (his wife built a memorial to him down from statue of Robbie Burns - probably Sir Frederick Revans Chapman), and two other unknown characters, one a man at table with crutches, the other possibly holding a begging bowl. One sketch dated 1895 is the basis for dating these works. Inscriptions: Two works have some inscription. Quantity: 6 drawing(s) stuck on both sides of 3 cards..
