Description: Hanrahan qualified as a registered nurse in 1940 and joined the New Zealand Army Nursing Service in July 1943. She sailed the same month from Wellington as a nurse aboard the Dutch hospital ship `Oranje'. During 1943 and early 1944 the `Oranje' made several trips between Port Said and South Africa and Australia and New Zealand. In the later part of 1944 the `Oranje' travelled mainly between the United Kingdom and Italy carrying wounded military personnel. Hanrahan left the ship in Cairo in Dec 1944 and served in the Cairo Number One General Hospital for the remainder of her war service. Description: Holland visiting Pinewood Film Studios while in England in 1955. The publicity shots show him in conversation with the stars, producers and directors of "Value for Money", "Doctor at Sea", and "A Woman for Joe". During his visit to Malaysia in 1955 Holland is shown inspecting class rooms of students and being shown the process of tapping the rubber tree. There are a group of unidentified images which may be of Holland with members of his family. Two groups of images show him at leasure. The first, at the edge of a pond or stream with Sir Anthony Eden and a group of unidentified men and boys all in swimming togs. The second, fly fishing with a couple of other people and armed for the hunt. Two images record a visit to India with his wife and daughter. Quantity: 66 b&w original photographic print(s).

'Music hath charms' shows the Salvation Army band 'leading a mutiny against the City Council' while they play loudly outside the Christchurch City Council buildings. A drunk man, seen in Dunedin, carries a large sandwich board 'Prohibition a blunder'. A cricket player getting bowled relates to 'South African cricketers' against the Australians in their 5th test. A London professor snoozes under a tree, after stating that 'the sun could do all world's work'. Two small boys, one with an executioner's axe, his dead parents behind him, discuss the murder of the parents after his mother refused to give him a penny to buy lollies. Relates to a newspaper account of a boy in Dunedin reacting violently to strict parents, including his trying to hang himself. A self portrait shows Low sobbing into his handkerchief, while he draws Tommy Taylor, but regrets the ending of the political life of Joseph Ward and William Massey for caricature purposes. Councillor Thacker pulling up a tree from Cathedral Square in the process of transplanting it rather that cutting it down. A confrontation between Britain and Kaiser Bill is about importing goods between the two countries.
