Description: Photographs of Kamo (Whangarei), Rodney County and Coromandel, taken, probably in the 1900s, by Daniel P Parker of Coromandel. Includes views of the construction on a timber dam (probably in Coromandel), Coromandel Public Hospital, Kennedy Bay (Coromandel), a stream crossing between Opitonui and Coromandel, bush camps in the Coromadel district and a traffic bridge in Rodney County. Daniel P Parker is recorded in the Wise's Post Office directories as an engineer in Coromandel from 1902 to 1930. Between 1906 and 1911 he is also recorded as a photographer. Description: Mostly photographs of Kauri trees and forest. In particular they relate to Waipoua and Warawara national parks and the Karekare Domain in the Waitakeres. All are part of a larger collection in Manuscripts comprising papers consisting principally of the records of the New Zealand Conservation Society, of which Professor McGregor was the founder and president, together with some records of successor and related conservation bodies. Much of the material relates to the attempts to conserve the Waipoua Kauri Forest. Description: Scenic photographs of New Zealand taken by R.H. Bartlett, photographer who was working in Auckland circa 1875 to 1880. At the beginning of the album there is a fold-out page, opening into four full-sized photographs. Most of the images are of North Island scenes, including some of Maori groups outside whare, meeting houses, and a school with thatched walls and roof, and a view of the Maori pa at Ohinemutu. Most of the other views are landscapes, including the Pink and White Terraces, the Whangarei and Waitakere waterfalls; and hot springs at Lake Rotomahana, the Champagne Fountain at Wairakei, and the Crows Nest geyser at Taupo.
