Description: Postcard with a photo-mechanical reproduction of a photograph, taken by Webb. It shows three statues by Charles Francis Summers - Susannah surprised by the Elders; Zephyr & Cupid; Baccante and the infant Bacchus - all exhibited at the New Zealand International Exhibition, 1906-1907. Postcard printed by Smith & Anthony Limited, ca 1907 The works were sold by Summers to the commissioners of the Christchurch exhibition. In 1908 the sculptures were purchased by Dept of Tourist & Health Resorts for the Rotorua Bath House. All were sculpted in Carrera marble and are examples of the Neo-Classical style. Description: A collection of postcards and printed views (possibly from a magazine) of New Zealand scenes primarily of towns and cities rather than scenic views. They include one of two Maori women washing clothes at Rotorua, another of the Royal visit in 1927 and a family group of seven men and three women possibly taken in Belfast. A number of the postcards have been used. Also included are five original photographs which have been captioned with the family connections: a soldier in uniform, possibly named Ralph Ferguson; Uncle Henry Babe's wedding photograph; cousin Violet Bradford in America; Albert and Elizabeth (Eliza) Babe (brother and sister) and four others; Thomas and Fanny Babe (grandpa and grandma) with Eliza, Harold, Albert, Olivia, Queenie and Gladys. Description: View of the main entrance and bridge across the Avon River leading to the exhibition hall. Photograph attributed to L Goodger, whose name and address are stamped on the back. There are a series of six stamps (non-postal) designed to commemorate the Exhibition. Four of the stamps are numbered and have been pasted onto the mount, three on either side of the image. Images on them are: Map of NZ and head of a Maori chief, Haeremai and head of Maori chief (No 2), kiwi (no 3), Maori women wearing tiki (No 4), tui on branch with mountain range in background (No 5), portrait of R J Seddon.
