Description: Shows a view looking north along the coastline at Dunedin, with people dotted along the beach. THe message included top right reads 'A merry Christmas' Ocean Beach is a long sandy beach which stretches for some three kilometres from Saint Clair in the southwest of Dunedin City along the coast of Saint Kilda to the foot of Lawyer's Head in the east. Description: Shows a view of the Port Hills, sketched possibly from Godley Head, at the mouth of Lyttelton Harbour. Cliffs rise up to the left of the beach, and the hills are represented on the right. The pencil inscription on the verso suggests the handwriting belongs to Charlotte Mabel Alington, and refers to a sketch by her brother John Sydney Alington (Syd) Inscriptions: Verso - top right - Port Hills look too large.
